Magnesite looks very much like white turquoise and many people refer to it as such. Please note that these are two entirely stones. Magnesite is a beautiful but common stone. Pope Francis Rosary in Matte Opal and Picture Jasper

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" Psalm 23, verse 1

This is the thought that goes thru my mind every time I see Pope Francis' official Crozier. How fitting, because Pope Francis is, in every way, the "good shepherd" for the Church. He is a very holy, and simple man doing his best to live the way Christ taught us too.

Because I think so highly of him, I wanted to make a rosary to honor Pope Francis. The Ave beads are 8mm matte opal beads. These beads are the prettiest beads I've seen in a long time. They are not completely round, and some of them do have dimples and imperfections. This gives them the appearance of being handmade although I'm very certain that they were not made by hand. They range in color from turquoise to green to tan and brown. They remind me of heavily oxidized copper. The matte finish gives them a satin feel. Accenting the Ave beads are the Pater beads which are 12mm picture jasper. These beads provide a nice contrast to the matte opal beads. Both the cross and the center are silver colored metal. The wire is fine silver plated onto pure copper.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries,  to see more of my wire wrapped, unbreakable rosaries and chaplets.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary with Handmade Lampwork Beads

The focal point of this rosary are the handmade lampwork Our Father beads. These beads are comprised of silver and gold foil encased in bright red-orange transparent glass. Because they are handmade, no two beads are exactly alike. Some may have minor imperfections from the creation process. This is to be expected with handmade items and adds to the charm of a handcrafted item. The Hail Mary beads are 6mm bright red orange man made rock crystal beads. These beads look red in some light and orange in other types of light. The center of the rosary honors Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast day is December 12. The reverse side honors St Juan Diego. Both the center and the crucifix are silver colored metal, the wire is fine silver plated onto copper.   Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my wire wrapped, unbreakable rosaries.   If you would like to learn more about Our Lady of Guadalupe, please visit my blog post honoring the Virgin of the Americas.

The Ave beads are 6mm black onyx and the Pater beads are 12mm black labradorite with silver colored bead caps on either end. The labradorite is quite pretty and when the light hits them right, some of the beads have a nice iridescence or "fire". Irish Rosary with Connemara Marble and Swarovski Pearls

The Ave beads in this rosary are 8mm Connemara Marble beads imported directly from Ireland. While there are 4 different kinds of marble indigenous to Ireland, Connemara Marble is the only one that is most commonly associated with the Emerald Isle. These beads are an olive green with darker bands and patches of serpentine. They have a waxy surface which is one of the characteristics of Connemara Marble. The Pater beads are 12mm Swarovski crystal pearls. Swarovski pearls are high quality simulated pearls. They have a crystal center and are covered with 4 layers of nacre (pearly coating) which gives them a beautiful luster.

The shamrock center is sterling silver. The Celtic crucifix is white bronze. It has the Celtic Knot motif which has long been an Irish symbol of immortality. The wire is 99% pure silver plated onto pure copper.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my unbreakable rosaries, chaplets and rosary bracelets.

Kilkenny Black Marble Rosary in Sterling Silver

The Ave beads in this rosary are 6mm Kilkenny black marble beads imported directly from Ireland. This particular marble is found in the County of Kilkenny, Ireland. When I first received these beads, they had a dull, matte finish. However, when I began to work with them to make the rosary, they began to take on a nice sheen. While I can't be certain of this, I think that means the more the rosary is prayed with, the nicer the beads will look. These beads have some patches of slightly lighter marble within them giving them sort of a variegated appearance. Care needs to be taken with these beads because they are easily scratched. The pater beads are 10mm white magnesite. The marbleized appearance of the Pater beads is a nice compliment to the black marble Ave beads.

The oval center honoring our Blessed Mother is sterling silver as is the intricate crucifix. The wire is 99% pure silver plated onto pure copper wire. The bead caps and spacers are silver plated metal. This rosary would make a wonderful Father's Day gift.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my wire wrapped, unbreakable rosaries.

Mysteries Rosary in Carnelian with Pardon Crucifix

The focus of this rosary is the Mysteries Center. This amazing center has a Miraculous Medal. It opens up to show lists of all the Joyous Mysteries, Sorrowful Mysteries and the Glorious mysteries. It also has the schedule of days that each mystery should be prayed. However, it must be noted that the engraving is quite small and sometimes hard to see.

The Aves are 8mm faceted carnelian beads. The beads are burnt orange, but in some light they begin to look red. They are translucent allowing the light to shine thru them. This gives them a beautiful glow. The Pater beads are 15mm x 15mm puffy hearts with a dragonfly motif.

The Pardon Crucifix is also known as the Indulgence Crucifix. Originally, Pope Pius X granted indulgences to anyone who prayed with the crucifix or who kissed the crucifix. The back of the crucifix says: "Father Forgive Them" and "Behold This Heart Which Has So Loved Men." Both the center and the crucifix are made of nickle silver.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my wire wrapped, unbreakable rosaries.

Mary Undoer of Knots Rosary

Both the Ave beads and Our Father beads are beautiful fire polished rosaline beads from Czechoslovakia. The Ave beads are 8mm faceted beads with silver plated filigree bead caps and the Our Father beads are 12mm faceted beads with silver plated bead caps that have a floral motif. The large Pater beads are multifaceted and are beautiful to look into. The delicate color of these beads is the same as a nice Rose or Blush Wine with a little bit of pink and a little bit of peach. Unfortunately, my photography doesn't do it justice.

The center piece honors Mary, Undoer of Knots which is Pope Francis' favorite aspect of Our Blessed Mother. The intricate cut-out crucifix shows Mary Magdalene and Mary the Mother of Jesus at the foot of the cross. Both the center and the crucifix have "Italy" stamped on the back and both are made of silver colored metal This is a substantial rosary with a nice weight and feel.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my wire wrapped, unbreakable rosaries.

The Ave beads in this rosary are 8mm faceted denim lapis lazuli. These beads are dark blue with white sodalite marbled thru them. The faceting gives them extra sparkle and shine. It has a subtle luminosity that gives depth and beauty to the image. The Pardon Crucifix is also known as the Indulgence Crucifix. Originally, Pope Pius X granted indulgences to anyone who prayed with the crucifix or who kissed the crucifix. The back of the crucifix says: "Father Forgive Them" and "Behold This Heart Which Has So Loved Men."  The back of the crucifix also has an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the center.  The crucifix is made of silver colored metal.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries to see more of my wire wrapped rosaries.

Mariculous Medal Rosary in Tourmalene with Trinity Crucifix

Both the Aves and the Paters in this rosary are tourmaline. Accenting the tourmaline are 3mm white simulated pearls. The Ave beads are 7mm and the Pater beads are 12mm. The colors range from black to deep purple to mauve and light pink. Some of the darker beads have an inner iridescence which gives them a little sparkle. The result is a beautiful multicolor rosary. Since these are natural stones, many of these beads are not completely round and some have minor imperfections. The Miraculous Medal is silver colored metal as is the Trinity crucifix. This intricate crucifix is loaded with symbolism. At the top of the crucifix is an image of God the Father who descends as a dove which is behind our Lord's head. The Holy Spirit imbues Himself into Our Lord who, in turn, descends directly into the Eucharist. It is a beautiful depiction of our Catholic faith.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries to see more of my wire wrapped rosaries.

St Brigid Irish Rosary Celtic Cross in Green Goldstone

The Ave beads in this rosary are 6mm faceted green goldstone beads. Also, these beads can appear black in very dim light but they come alive in bright light. In most of the photos, the beads appear black but actually they are a very dark green glass with flecks of silver foil in them. This foil makes the beads sparkle and dance in the light. I have been unable to catch this quality with my photos, but the white flecks you see in some of the beads is actually the silver foil reflecting light. If you look closely at some of the photos, you might be able to see the green color in some of the beads. The Pater beads are 6mm by 8mm Celtic knot beads. The Celtic knot is one of the Irish symbols of immortality.

The silver colored centerpiece honors both St Brigid and St Patrick. St Brigid is on the front of the center while St Patrick is on the reverse side. The silver colored crucifix is a traditional Celtic crucifix with a Celtic knot motif.  Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries, to see more of my unbreakable, wire wrapped rosaries.

Mother of Sorrows Blue Goldstone Wire Wrapped Rosary

In this rosary Our Mother of Sorrows is comforted by midnight blue beads that have flecks of metal that sparkle like the stars in the night sky. The Aves are 8mm blue goldstone beads. The term goldstone is actually a misnomer because it is not a stone. It is actually dark blue transparent glass that copper and silver foil flecks have been mixed into. The result is a beautiful, sparkly bead that dances in the light. I've have tried my best to capture the sparkly nature of these beads, but sadly the sparkles look like white specs in the beads. The Pater Beads are 15mm x 15mm filigree heart beads comprised of silver colored metal

The lead free pewter center honors our Mother of Sorrows and has a Pieta on the reverse side. The crucifix is also lead free pewter and the hearts on the ends of each arm of the cross echo the heart shaped Our Father beads.   Please click here to learn more about this rosary and please visit my shop, Holy Name Rosaries to see more of my unbreakable rosaries .
